Skin Tag Removal

Skin tags are soft, usually small pieces of skin that “hang” from a stalk. They occur equally in males and females, but are more prone to appear during pregnancy and in overweight people. Their cause is unknown, but genetics is thought to play a role. Skin tags can appear anywhere on the body, but are most likely in areas where skin rubs against skin – such as the armpits, groin and neck. They are always benign and present no medical concern, but they can present cosmetic concerns, so skin tag removal is a frequently requested procedure.

Easy Skin Tag Removal

Skin tag removal is easily performed, inexpensive, and low-risk. A small amount of numbing medicine is injected at the base of the tag and then the tag is simply cut off with a small blade. The area may be a bit sore for 1-2 days and should be covered with a band aid to prevent it from being rubbed. It is very rare for skin tag removal to result in any infections, but your provider may recommend keeping antibiotic ointment on the area for 1-2 days.
