Our Trichlorocetic peel (15%) is recommended for aging and/or sun damaged skin. It can be an excellent treatment for reducing fine lines and wrinkles, improving skin texture and decreasing pore size.1 This moderate to aggressive peel can also smooth uneven skin tones, leaving your skin looking and feeling younger and healthier.
Genesis MedSpa’s medical aestheticians are able to customize this peel in order to meet your skin’s individual needs. For example, we can add products to the TCA peel that can produce extra lightening for sun damaged skin with hyperpigmentation. If your skin has poor texture, this peel can be customized to allow for additional exfoliation. This enables our clients to achieve results.2
In general, about a week of redness and sloughing can be expected with a TCA peel. However, mineral-make up can be worn immediately. Sunscreen must be worn during the healing process and treatment products, such as Retin-A, glycolic acids, or other harsh products should not be used.
We recommend 2-4 TCA peels per year depending upon the severity of your sun damage and the results you would like to attain.2 This is a great way to maintain beautiful, fresh-looking skin!
Genesis MedSpa also offers a lower grade TCA peel (our Gloss peel) for our acneic clients.1 This is a very effective peel for congested, oily skin. Less aggressive than the 15% TCA peel, it is a great acne-fighting weapon for any age client. It can produce 12 – 24 hours of slight redness and mild sloughing, and can yield more acne-free skin and may also help to control oil output.
