Dysport is an injectable neurotoxin that temporarily improves the appearance of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows (glabellar lines). It also improves lines across the forehead, in the crows feet and around the lips.1* The results can lead to a younger, less angry, softer appearance.*

  • FDA approved
  • Natural looking results
  • Used to soften wrinkles in the forehead, in between the brows, in the crows feet and around the mouth1

How does Dysport work?

Dysport stops the nerve from being able to signal the muscle to contract, or move. This results in a reduction of muscle activity and temporarily prevents the movement that causes frown lines and other wrinkles.2 All untreated facial muscles still contract normally, allowing you to freely show facial expressions, such as smiling, in untreated areas. However, the lines that cause you to look worried, angry and tired will be temporarily gone!*

Who should not get Dysport?

Do not receive Dysport if you are allergic to cow’s milk protein, if you have ever had an allergic reaction to another botulinum toxin product, or if you have infection at the site of the desired treatment. Patients who are pregnant or nursing should not receive Dysport. Patients with certain neuromuscular disorders such as ALS, myasthenia gravis, or Lambert-Eaton syndrome should not receive Dysport. You should inform your physician if you are taking any muscle relaxants, have a history of Bell’s Palsy, or if you are on an aminoglycoside antibiotic.

When will I see results from the treatment?

On average, patients treated with Dysport begin to see relaxation of the treated muscles within 3-5 days. However, results can take up to ten days.3

How long does Dysport last?

Most people will need 3-4 Dysport treatments per year in order to maintain results.2

What should I do to prepare for my Dysport treatment?

Avoid ibuprofen products (such as Motrin or Advil) for 72 hours before your appointment. Aspirin should not be used for a week prior to your appointment, unless it is being used for a medical condition.

What can I do after a Dysport treatment?

You may return to normal activity immediately after your treatment. However, you will need to stay in an upright position for about 4 hours, so you may not do any activities (a yoga class, or taking a nap) that would cause you to bend over or lie down. You may not heavily rub the injected areas for 4 hours and you will be asked to contract the injected muscles several times an hour for the first 4 hours. You may immediately begin using your regular skin-care products.
